ISES DALLAS MASTER SERIES
With the Super Bowl coming to our area in 2011, ISES Dallas members are getting a jump on the competition by learning just how we can all benefit from the landslide of business that will be generated from, not only the Super Bowl itself, but the hundreds of other events that will take place!
First of a two-part Master Series entitled “Scoring Big Business from the Super Bowl – Learn from the Pros” was held October 9th at Eddie Deen’s Ranch. Even though this is one of our industry’s busiest times of the year, close to 30 people showed up at 8:00 a.m. for a wonderful hot breakfast – compliments of Eddie Deen’s Ranch - and to hear two of the area’s most respected and knowledgeable women speak to us about Super Bowl and just what it will mean for the event industry in North Texas.
With Sparky Sparks acting as narrator, he introduced our first speaker, Tara Green, VP of Sports Marketing for the Dallas CVB, who was instrumental in putting together the North Texas Super Bowl bid. After viewing a DVD from the city of Houston which covered all the events, moneys raised for charity, etc… from the year they hosted the Super Bowl, Tara spoke to us about the actual bid process and why/how North Texas was awarded the event and just what it will mean to the entire north Texas area.
Kaye Burkhardt with Dallas Fan Fares, Inc. was our next speaker. With 20 years experience conducting corporate programs, meetings and incentives for Super Bowl events, and working directly with the NFL, Kaye was a wealth of knowledge! She highlighted all the many, many opportunities ISES member will have for business and strongly encouraged everyone to “work together” and to extend our Texas hospitality to make this the most successful and memorable Super Bowl ever. She said ISES is on the right track in by beginning the education process as to what this event will mean to our business and our area.
The _ day seminar concluded with a “meet and greet” with the speakers and, with all excitement that was generated, many members stayed around to talk with Kaye and Tara.
AV equipment and music was provided by Richard McClure of AVSD.
