The Toast To Life Preview Party Rocked!

The Toast To Life Kickoff 2009 was a huge success! We all had an amazing time, and want to thank you to all our sponsors, as your hard work was most appreciated. Below are some letters we received from Shannon and Dean of the Dallas Resource Center.

Yvette and Leigh,

Wow.  I just can’t begin to express how much last night meant to Toast 09!  The party was just flawless and so much more than I could imagine.  That’s why you guys are at the top of your game!  Not only did we receive great feedback at the party, but we sold many event tickets on the buzz!  Fatti told me about one patron that originally told her that he was ‘not available on the 18th’ but later came back to her and said that the party was so much fun that he knew he wanted to attend on the 18th   and purchased 2 VIP tickets!  We even had a sponsor (who receives 6 tickets with his sponsorship) purchase 4 additional TTL tickets after the party.

This morning, we have been met with excited buzz from all sides. Lots of past supporters who came out and were just blown away by the energy.  I am so excited about going forward into the big event.  I also appreciate how great you have been to Dean since this is his first big time event, there are so many details and you guys have been right there to lend support!

Many thanks from all of the RCD family!

Shannon

Hi Yvette,

I don’t know how to begin…  I intentionally delayed this email until I had a good chunk of time to sit down and really tell you how I feel.  I’m officially on weekend after two fundraisers today.  As I’m sure you can imagine, I’m under quite a bit of pressure at work to make TTL a success.  The financial goals I’ve been given are extremely aggressive, and the expectations for a perfect event have been set.

I have real fund raising talent, but when I first took this job the aspect of it that I was the most nervous about was the event management aspect.  I don’t have the knowledge and experience with events that Raymond brought to the table.  I’m very grateful for having been able to work with and learn from him, but when it comes to events his shoes are certainly impossible for me to fill.

I can’t tell you how much positive feedback I’ve received about the Preview Party.  You and your team made me look like a superstar in front of my colleagues, board members, supervisors, friends, and community.  People who didn’t know me, or had their doubts about my abilities took notice.  Not only did we sell lots of Preview Party tickets, we also sold lots of gala tickets.  We also generated a lot of exciting buzz.  After attending the party people who had never heard of TTL were buying gala tickets.  I even had an attendee call me the next day to become a $1000 sponsor!

I can’t express how much I appreciate you and your team.  I also appreciate your friendship and kindness during this process as I will probably be a ball of nerves until after the event.

Heartfelt and sincere thanks,
